“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” – Leonard Cohen

A Letter to Moms,

On the days I am not sure if I'm coming or going I look back to when my child was an infant or even to when I was pregnant and had no idea what life had in store for my family or me. I take a moment to see how far I've come as a person and as a mom. All the mistakes I've made and all of the things that I did right! The challenging experiences that make our family unique. The determination I’ve had. The confidence and fearlessness to grow alongside my son and let him know that I’m learning too. We will never stop learning in life because then what is left? I would like to take a bow to the mom I was five years ago and the mom I am today. There were days I thought all would be okay, and it was and there were days I didn't think it would be okay, and it was.

You will be okay mama. The hard times will pass and you will look back in appreciation for them. You will gain wisdom and grit on your journey. You will make friends and lose some.  Failure does not define you. It adds layers of color, humanity and light. You are strength, you are hope, you are a mother.

Warmly,
Kim
