Pregnancy Is Hard Work!

As your body is working hard on creating your little one within your belly, you may feel physically, emotionally and spiritually fatigued. Those amazing hormones like estrogen and progesterone that allow us to become pregnant are the same pesky hormones responsible for physical discomfort and emotional restlessness. At times it may feel hard to manage all of the changes you are enduring. That is why it is essential to tune into your emotions. If you ever needed to really pay attention to your needs it is now. Reflect on the excitement you feel, while honing in on possible irritability or anxiety in the back of your mind. Do not ignore what you feel even if you can easily brush it off as part of the pregnancy rollercoaster.

Connect with your partner. Express your worries or needs directly, open communication may alleviate fear and anxiety and often brings a couple closer together. Make a special night dedicated to your relationship, either out to a restaurant or inside listening to your favorite music. Take a weekend trip together, a babymoon, to ease the possible tension you have both endured throughout the months of pregnancy. Nurturing your relationship during this time is very important.

Do something for yourself. Go to a body of water and look at the vast world beyond yourself. Meet up with a friend for dinner. Take a picture, paint a landscape or write in a journal. Meditate. Indulge in your favorite treat, you deserve it! Step away from your desk at work and take a walk during lunchtime. Let the dishes sit in the sink and pick up a book that speaks to you. Fulfilling your desires during pregnancy and after your child is born are truly vital. Your mind, body and spirit will thank you.

  1. Great tips! No babies here, but I imagine those 9 months can be pretty exhausting for both growing bodies.
